Arcura partnered with Hamberley to deliver a full glazing and door solution for Alston House Care Home, combining Liniar PVC-u windows and doors with Technal STII aluminium communal doors and Technal aluminium curtain walling.
All glass was Heat Soak Toughened (HST) to meet the exacting Hamberley specification, ensuring both safety and long term performance throughout the care home. The installation covered both new build elements and a refurbishment of the old police station, where planners were particularly protective of the building’s character, requiring careful attention to detail and sensitive integration of modern PVC-u systems.
The project was delivered in 2021/22, a period when supply chains were still recovering from the COVID-19 disruption, which presented additional logistical challenges. Despite these factors, Arcura successfully managed the supply, delivery, and installation programme, ensuring all products were installed efficiently, to specification, and on schedule.
The completed Alston House Care Home project demonstrates Arcura’s ability to deliver technically precise, specification compliant solutions under complex conditions. The combination of Liniar PVC-u systems and Technal aluminium doors and curtain walling was installed to meet Hamberley’s high standards for safety, security, and durability, while also providing a visually cohesive finish that respects the building’s heritage. The project was completed on time and to specification, delivering a safe, high-quality environment for residents and staff alike, and showcasing Arcura’s expertise in overcoming supply chain and on-site challenges with professionalism and precision.
