Located in the heart of Bermondsey, this five storey building underwent a major transformation to become a modern hotel for the Travelodge brand. Arcura was proud to work alongside the main contractor to deliver a complete fenestration package, contributing to the successful repurposing of an existing structure into a contemporary and regulation compliant hospitality space.

The works included the installation of new aluminium windows, fire-rated windows and a door, communal entrance doors, plant room doors and louvres. Acoustic glazing was installed throughout most of the building to meet noise reduction requirements, and curved head flashings were fitted to openings to match the profiles of the original frames that were removed. External mastic sealant was also applied to all treated openings to ensure durability and weather resistance.

All works were carried out across five floors of the existing structure. One of the main challenges was site access, as all materials had to be transported internally using a hoist system. This required careful planning and coordination with the site team to avoid congestion and keep work moving efficiently. Deliveries were scheduled closely to ensure materials reached the correct floors without delay or disruption.

Despite minor delays during the manufacturing process, the project is now nearing completion with most frames installed and glazed. Arcura delivered a
high quality, regulation compliant solution that not only improved the performance of the building but also contributed to its transformation into a modern hotel space.
