Arcura partnered with Barnes Construction to deliver a complete aluminium and steel package for the Travelodge Stratford refurbishment, transforming a repurposed existing building into a high performing, modernised space.

The project required a careful blend of aluminium fixed windows, aluminium TBT (Tilt & Turn) windows, fire rated doors and windows, steel doors for plant rooms and ground floor back of house areas, aluminium louvres, and external mastic work, all designed to meet stringent safety, security, and regulatory requirements while maintaining the building’s visual integrity.

Every element was supplied and installed with precision, ensuring durability, long-term performance, and aesthetic cohesion. Fixed windows provided a robust and low maintenance façade, while TBT windows offered both ventilation and emergency egress. Fire rated doors and windows were carefully integrated to comply fully with building regulations, and steel doors secured essential back of house areas. Aluminium louvres enhanced the functionality of the façade, and external mastic work ensured weatherproofing and long term reliability. Where bespoke solutions were required to navigate structural constraints or integrate with the existing fabric, Arcura’s team delivered site specific designs, engineered and installed to the highest standards.

Logistics presented a significant challenge, with only a single internal hoist available for all materials throughout the building. Arcura overcame this by planning every delivery and installation sequence, ensuring that materials could be moved efficiently through the constrained spaces without impacting the programme. This careful coordination allowed the installation to progress smoothly and maintain alignment with the refurbishment schedule.

Despite these challenges, Arcura achieved a high quality result that fully met the client’s expectations. The aluminium and steel systems were installed to specification, delivering safety, security, and regulatory compliance alongside a visually cohesive finish that complemented the refurbished building. Close collaboration with Barnes Construction and other on site trades ensured that the project remained on programme, with all works completed to the exacting standards required for a modern hospitality environment.
